Sumitomo Corporation of America's (SCOA) Non-Ferrous, Petroleum and Carbon business activities vary from working with our parent company, Sumitomo Corporation (SC), as the official marketer of American Eagle gold coins in the Japanese market, to supplying specialized copper tubing to major air conditioning manufacturers. Our carbon business involves the development of carbon related new products/technologies. We recently introduced carbon fiber-based rehabilitation and strengthening methods for concrete structures in the United States.

Phelps Dodge Corporation
SCOA recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their investment in a copper mining project between Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. and Phelps Dodge Corporation located in Morenci, Arizona. SCOA exports 15 percent of the copper concentrate production of the mine to Japan.
