Certified as an Excellent Enterprise of Health and Productivity Management―White 500
On February 21, 2017, Sumitomo Corporation (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kuniharu Nakamura) was certified as an Excellent Enterprise of Health and Productivity Management―White 500 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for its superior management practices that focus on promoting employee health.
Jointly run by the METI and Nippon Kenko Kaigi, the Excellent Enterprises of Health and Productivity Management―White 500 program certifies large corporations that practice excellent health-oriented management in conjunction with their health insurance societies. The program was launched this fiscal year, and a total of 500 companies are to be certified by 2020. Sumitomo Corporation was one of the first companies to receive the certification.
The Sumitomo Corporation Group offers a safe, hygienic and healthy working environment for its employees. The Group positions physical and mental health management as the foundation of work-life management, and encourages employees to work efficiently to create sufficient time for their private lives. The aim is to promote a work style that allows employees to maintain and enhance their health while being highly productive.

| The SCG Counseling Center is located in Harumi Triton Square, the same location as the head office. It serves Sumitomo Corporation Group employees by helping them to work with vigor. The Center is staffed with several counselors, who help employees solve their problems and concerns. Since opening in April 2005, the Center has become widely recognized as a place where employees can casually drop by and consult about whatever they feel like in strict confidence, and is now an integral part of employees’ everyday lives. | SCG Massage Room Koriton was opened in Harumi Triton Square in April 2008 to enhance the health of Sumitomo Corporation Group employees and relieve their fatigue. Koriton is a popular spot where employees can feel free to drop by in their spare working hours to maintain their physical condition. (Total number of visits: More than 3,500 per year) |
