Details North Bangkok Combined Cycle Power Plant Block 2 consists of two single-shaft units using natural gas supplied from PTT Public Co. Ltd.
Sumitomo Corporation was responsible for supplying the balance of plant equipment, such as the water treatment facility, Generator Step up Transformers and 230 kV GIS, and carrying out overall civil, installation, and erection works. The main equipment were supplied by Alstom.
The plant entered into service in 2016, increasing the total generating capacity to 1,550 MW. This makes the North Bangkok Power Plant become one of the biggest, most efficient and flexible power stations in Thailand.
