Celebrating Long-Standing Partner Vodafone's 40th Anniversary with £15,000 Charitable Donation

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of our long-standing partner, Vodafone, we were delighted to contribute a charitable donation of £15,000 to an evening of fundraising.

Founded in 1984 and with the first mobile call taking place in January 1985, Vodafone has been at the forefront of mobile technology for the past 40 years. Furthermore, Sumitomo Corporation and Vodafone have been close partners since 2020, sharing a commitment to innovative technology and development.

Throughout their history, Vodafone have also shown an ongoing commitment to charitable causes, so to mark their 40th anniversary, 1,300 guests attended the Battersea Evolution for a fundraising gala evening.

The donation from Sumitomo Corporation contributed to these fund-raising efforts, which will go to support the vital work of the Vodafone Foundation, as well as the following three organisations:

• UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency): Dedicated to protecting and supporting refugees and displaced persons worldwide, the UNHCR works tirelessly to provide essential aid and advocate for the rights of those forced to flee their homes.
• Men Matter Scotland: Men Matter Scotland aims to break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and offer resources for those in need.
• Femmes en détresse: Committed to supporting women in distress, offering assistance and resources to help women overcome difficult circumstances and rebuild their lives.
