【PT Reka Cakrabuana Logistik】Announcement of Collaboration with QRIM Express and GrabExpress for First Mile & Last Mile Services in Indonesia

Jakarta, 20 May 2019 – The fast-growing logistic service company PT Reka Cakrabuana Logistik (CEO: Rahim Tahir) has reached an agreement with Grab Indonesia for pick-up and delivery services from the place of origin to the destinations in remote areas. Taking this opportunity, PT Reka Cakrabuana Logistik enters the growing consumer-to-consumer (C2C) express delivery courier market at full scale on nationwide basis as well, renaming its brand name as “QRIM Express (QRIM)”.

QRIM collaborates with GrabExpress, Grab’s on-demand parcel and courier delivery service, to expand the nationwide networks as well as to meet the increasing demand of timely pick-up and delivery, by using the large number of GrabExpress fleet.

The demand for a much faster, cheaper and safer delivery service for small packages in the metropolitan area has created a special market for logistic companies. The Association of Indonesian Express, Post and Logistics Services (Asosiasi Perusahaan Jasa Pengiriman Ekspres, Pos, dan Logistik Indonesia/Asperindo) estimates that expedition service in Indonesia in 2019 will increase by 14.7 to 15%. This is further supported by the positive trend of e-commerce logistics delivery in Indonesia, which is 7.9% during the period of 2016-2021 each year.

Satisfying the needs for increased pick-up service, QRIM will start the pick-up service even if it is just a one parcel, by combining GrabExpress driver-partners and QRIM riders, to customers in seven major cities, namely Jabodetabek (*1), Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Medan, Makassar, Semarang.

Armed with a GPS satellite-based navigation system and GIS geographic information system designed to capture, store, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographic data, QRIM operators will easily find the closest GrabExpress’ driver-partners to pick up a parcel. QRIM can maximize its working efficiency with automated instruction of parcel pick-up and delivery, in accordance with orders from individual customers.

This partnership expands GrabExpress’s delivery services beyond its current on-demand and same-day parcel and courier delivery service to include more options like nationwide scheduled deliveries. It also enlarges GrabExpress’ coverage to allow for inter-city deliveries. GrabExpress is currently available in 160 cities in Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke. GrabExpress, a rapidly growing business within Grab’s super app ecosystem, allows consumers, e-commerce platforms and social commerce sellers to send and receive parcels easily. From March 2018 till December 2018, GrabExpress grew instant and same-day delivery volumes by more than three times.

“We have reached an agreement on a contract for a delivery service collaboration, which illustrates that both parties maximize the provision potential of QRIM services through Grab application. QRIM is optimistic that we can support GRAB service integration, OVO payments, and QRIM service delivery in an efficient, effective, and better way,” said Rahim Tahir, CEO of QRIM.

“By utilizing the technology advantages that we have, GrabExpress is committed in helping local entrepreneurs to develop their business further. This partnership reflects our commitment as an everyday superapp by meeting the needs of the community for reliable, easy and safe instant courier services. Cooperation with QRIM Express, will enable us to offer a more complete delivery options in Indonesia and make it easier for sellers, buyers and merchants to send and receive their goods,” said Tyas Widyastuti, Head of Logistics Grab Express.
