Nippon Power Graphite to Build a New Plant for Lithium-Ion Battery Anode Material

Nippon Coke & Engineering (President: Kiyoaki Ogura, Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo;  hereinafter "NCE") and Sumitomo Corporation (President and CEO: Susumu Kato; Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "Sumitomo") announce as attachment that Nippon Power Graphite (President: Shoji Yoshida; Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo), a joint venture company of the two companies, has decided to build a new plant in Kitakyushu-city, Fukuoka prefecture with the production capacity of 700t/year in order to meet the growing demand for anode material.
