Retirement of Coal Fired Power Plant Operation at Onahama Power Station
Sumitomo Corporation has decided to retire the operation at Onahama Power Plant in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, operated by Summit Onahama S-Power Corporation in the end of March 2024 as a part of our initiative to achieve carbon neutrality. Summit Onahama S-Power Corporation is owned 65% by Summit Energy Corporation, a 100% subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation and 35% by Nihonkaisui Corporation.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the regional community and all those involved for their cooperation, and we will continue to operate safely, until the operation is stopped.
