Three companies – Kanden Realty & Development Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka-shi, Osaka; President and Representative Director: Emi Fukumoto), NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Member of the Board and President: Kou Ikeda) and Sumitomo Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer: Shingo Ueno) – are jointly planning a condominium development project at Nakanoshima 5-3 in Osaka, tentatively named the Nakanoshima 5-3 Project.
The project has a planned total area of over 100,000 m2 and a height of at least 150 m, and falls under the category of New Building Construction as stipulated in Article 2, Item 1 of the Building Standards Act. As part of procedures under the Osaka Municipal Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance, the three companies submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report to Osaka City on August 16, 2024, outlining the scope of the environmental impact assessment, survey methods, prediction techniques and evaluation criteria. Based on the opinions received, the three companies conducted an environmental impact assessment using the methods and criteria determined accordingly. As a result, the three companies submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Preparation Document summarizing the predictions, evaluations and other assessment results to the City of Osaka on August 21, 2025.
Through this project, the three companies will continue to work toward revitalizing the Nakanoshima 5-chome district as a whole. This will be made possible through more intensive land use together with attractive building facades and exterior spaces around the site, creating a landscape befitting the Nakanoshima area, a zone representing the "Aqua Metropolis Osaka" waterfront revitalization initiative. To this end, the project will contribute to making attractive, safe and comfortable urban living a reality.

* The facade, exterior structures, finish, shape, landscaping, etc. are subject to change for construction reasons or due to the guidance of government authorities. Some surrounding buildings have been omitted from the illustration.
