Soukai Drug Wins 7th Consecutive Rakuten Shop of the Year Award

Soukai Drug of Sumitomo Corporation Group operates several e-commerce websites that provide a broad range of products, from daily consumables such as mineral water, detergent, baby supplies, to home appliances. Now its main store is the winner of Rakuten Shop of Year 2015 award, presented by Rakuten Ichiba, Japan's largest e-commerce marketplace. In addition Soukai Drink Shop won best prize in the water/soft drink category and NetBabyWorld, a site run by the subsidiary of Soukai Drug, won sixth place in the overall ranking.

This award comprehensively evaluates over 40,000 shops in Rakuten Ichiba on criteria such as the total number of customer votes, total sales, total number of orders, and level of customer service. Soukai Drug has implemented a range of measures to enhance customer satisfaction, such as expanding warehouse capacity, broadening product lineups and improving product web pages. As a result, Soukai Drug has won the Shop of the Year award for seven consecutive years since 2009. With this year's victory, Soukai Drug overwrites its own record for most consecutive wins by a single store since the award was established. At the award ceremony held on January 25, 2016, Noriaki Komori, the president of Soukai Drug, expressed his humble appreciation, "I am most pleased to accept this award. This will encourage all the staff to work harder. We still have so much to do."

Soukai Drug has increased its lineups through acquisitions. In 2014 Soukai Drug acquired Akachan House 1.2.3 Co., Ltd., which operates NetBabyWorld, an e-commerce website specializing in baby goods. Followed by an acquisition this January, of COCORO Corporation that runs pet supply e-commerce websites such as "kaiteki Neko seikatsu" (comfortable cat life). Soukai Drug strives to further improve its service for increased customer satisfaction.
