Sumitomo Corporation Joins the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)

Sumitomo Corporation has joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (“WBCSD”) in May 2026. WBCSD is the premier global community of leading businesses working collectively to accelerate the system transformations needed for a net-zero, nature-positive and more equitable future.

Sumitomo Corporation has identified our material issues and established both long-term and medium-term targets, and has been conducting our business activities with the aim of achieving sustainable growth of the Group and resolving social challenges. Through our membership in the WBCSD, Sumitomo Corporation will continue to collaborate with a diverse range of companies to contribute to the development of tools and framework, while enhancing our expertise in sustainability and applying it to our business practices, thereby further advancing our sustainability management.
