MPT Concludes Partnership Agreement with Myanmar National League
Sumitomo Corporation is jointly engaged with KDDI and Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) in the telecommunications business in Myanmar.
To promote soccer as well as to foster and support player development in Myanmar, MPT has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the Myanmar National League (MNL). Soccer is a popular sport throughout Myanmar. MNL is a professional soccer league established in 2009, comprising 12 club teams. Over the three-year period 2018-2020, MPT will be teaming up with MNL to host scouting events for children 6-12 years of age, under-14 youth matches, university tournaments and other such competitions. MPT will also aim for improving their name recognition and brand image through such efforts as holding sponsor games and displaying its logo on backstop netting advertisements.

KDDI Summit Global Myanmar (KSGM), a joint venture between Sumitomo Corporation and KDDI that works in conjunction with MPT, will also be supporting activities as an MPT partner. During the signing ceremony, KSGM CEO Toshitake Amamiya remarked: "With this partnership between MPT and MNL, we look forward to helping run Myanmar's Youth Academy and assisting promising young players to pursue their unlimited potential. We also hope through soccer to play a part in promoting good health among the people of Myanmar."
