Gogoro wins Good Design Gold Award

Gogoro won the Good Design Gold Award on October 31, 2018. Sumitomo Corporation invests in Gogoro, a company engaged in the manufacture, sales, and energy management of electric scooters. The company’s “smart” scooters equipped with swappable batteries are enjoying tremendous popularity in Taiwan. The Good Design Award was given in recognition of not just the scooter’s design but also its highly unique scheme of energy platform utilizing swappable rechargeable batteries.

Gogoro’s Smartscooters are powered by swappable batteries. When batteries are low, they can simply be exchanged for fully charged ones at charging stations called ‘GoStation’ across town, where battery swaps take just in six seconds.

The Good Design Award accolade will no doubt direct fresh attention to the stylish design and superior user-friendliness of Gogoro Smartscooters.
