“Integrated Report 2022” and “ESG Communication Book 2022” Released
Sumitomo Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer: Masayuki Hyodo) released “Integrated Report 2022" (https://www.sumitomocorp.com/en/jp/ir/financial/investors-guide/2022/) and "ESG Communication Book 2022" (https://www.sumitomocorp.com/en/jp/sustainability/report). “Integrated Report 2022" provides medium-to long-term growth story of Sumitomo Corporation Group. "ESG Communication Book 2022" summarizes sustainability-related activities from ESG (environment, society and governance) perspective.
“Integrated Report 2022” explains with specific examples about Sumitomo Corporation Group’s long-term growth strategy to achieve sustainable growth through enhancement of sustainability management and our steady return to a growth trajectory through the execution of medium-term management plan “SHIFT 2023”. This year, we newly divided “ESG Communication Book 2022” into two parts: the "Story Book" and the "Disclosure Book", to make our stakeholders understand non-financial information in an easy-to-understand manner. The "Story Book" introduces specific examples of Sumitomo Corporation Group's value creation practices from the perspective of key social issues and includes a roundtable discussion among young employees on the theme of the future of Sumitomo Corporation Group. The “Disclosure Book” updates more detailed information on progress of the medium-term targets of key social issues and human capital (human resources management). In addition, we further expanded the information regarding scenario analyses and target risks in line with the recommendations of TCFD*.
Sumitomo Corporation is committed to disclose in timely and appropriate manner of both financial and non-financial information by utilizing a variety of disclosure tools to promote constructive dialogue with our stakeholders.
