Operation status of Ambatovy Nickel Project

Sumitomo Corporation(Head Office:Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masayuki Hyodo) hereby announces that Ambatovy Nickel Project has recommenced production of nickel on March 23rd and is currently ramping up production, after suspending its operations last March as announced on March 26th, 2020.

With the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in Madagascar, we will continue to monitor and take all possible measures to ensure the safety of employees and their families, and to achieve stable operation.
