Advisory on scam & fraudulent activities

Recently, there have been reported cases of individuals receiving emails purportedly from recruitment agencies by the name of “ABC Global Services” and “ABC service” offering job offers and employment positions in Sumitomo Corporation. These scam correspondences are sent with an email address ending with “@sumitomocorp.in” etc.

Meanwhile, in the past, there were reported cases of individuals receiving emails purportedly from recruitment agencies by the name of “Global India Services” and “Metro consultancy” offering job offers and employment positions in Sumitomo Corporation. These scam correspondences were sent with an email address ending with “@sumitomocorp.co.in” etc.

Please note that Sumitomo Corporation has no association with these email domains and is not related to ABC Global Services, ABC service, Global India Services or, Metro consultancy. We take a serious view of such scams and fraudulent activities and are investigating the matter.

Please further note that Sumitomo Corporation does not send out official emails from private or personal email accounts such as Hotmail, Gmail, or other unfamiliar email domains. Sumitomo Corporation also does not solicit for job roles or offer employment positions through unsecured emails, including webmail accounts. Further, Sumitomo Corporation will never ask you to provide your personal contact details or confidential information through unsecured emails.

We would therefore ask you to be vigilant and careful when you receive unsolicited emails or contacts purportedly from Sumitomo Corporation, or its recruitment agency. If you have any doubts or questions, please write to us via the Contact Form on our website.
