Sumitomo Corporation
Introducing “0→1 Challenge 2018” program to create new businesses
Sumitomo Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Masayuki Hyodo) has launched an “intrapreneurship” program named “0→1 Challenge 2018 (Zero to One Challenge 2018)” (hereinafter, “the Program”). With the aim of accelerating the creation of new next-generation businesses, the Program allows individuals to propose new businesses regardless of their day-to-day responsibilities.
Through the Program, Sumitomo Corporation aims to encourage each individual to materialize new business ideas. Individuals working for the Sumitomo Corporation Group, domestic and overseas, are widely invited to propose their ideas, irrespective of their job or length of service. To promote the program, Sumitomo Corporation has allocated Challenge Promotion Fund for taking on challenges. A follow-up scheme will also be provided to increase the feasibility of the proposed ideas. Specifically, 01Booster Inc., an accelerator, will provide individuals with opportunities to acquire the mindset required for developing new businesses, refine their ideas, exchange views with stakeholders both within and outside the Group, and learn how to make effective presentations.
Sumitomo Corporation respects each individual for who they are and is willing to provide maximum support to unleash their creativity. While addressing drastic changes taking place in the world, the Company will promote the transformation of business models across the Group and make unceasing challenges for new value creation.
