Chemicals
Chemicals Department of PT Sumitomo Indonesia is divided into 3 business lines: Organic Chemicals, Inorganic and Performance Chemicals, and Life Science.
Organic Chemicals business line delivers top quality of products from a wide range of petroleum & petrochemicals manufacturers to various industries such as paint & coatings, adhesive, ink, fumigant insecticides, polyolefin, synthetic rubbers and others.
The products range over Methacrylates, Styrene Monomer, Liquid Alkyl Benzene, Solvents, Olefin, Aromatic, Petroleum and others.
Inorganic and Performance Chemicals Business Line handles minerals, industrial chemicals, and fine chemicals to basic industries, such as water treatment, glass, ceramics, and food & beverages. Especially, the Business Line has supplied Aluminum Hydroxide from Australia since 2002 mainly for water treatment application.
Life Science Business Line focuses on raw material supply for agriculture and pharmaceutical industries. With Sumitomo Corporation Group’s network this Business Line provides the highest quality of products with the best supply chain management service.
Plastics
PT Sumitomo Indonesia Plastic Department started the business operation since 1984 and became one of the biggest main providers of imported plastic resin in Indonesia.
In the beginning, plastic department started operation in Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan. The business managed to gain very significant success with the total annual sales of 10,000 metric tons of Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE).
In the early 2000, plastic department engaged transaction with Indonesian local suppliers. Currently, plastic department total handling resin quantity is around 156 KTA. Our total annual sales consist of 60% PP, 30% PE and 10% of other plastic products such as Polycarbonate (PC), PVC Paste, Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), Acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), Polyamide 6/Polyamide 66, rubber, and chemical additives.
Nowadays, our plastic resin sources come from local Indonesia plastic manufacturers, SEA, China, South Korea, Japan, European, and Middle East suppliers with various business customers and end users whose products are stationary, food and beverage, automotive, home appliances, film and packaging, and office automation industries.
