2015 Welcoming Ceremony for 155 new employees

On April 1, 2015, a welcoming ceremony was held at the Sumitomo Corporation Head Office Building for 155 new employees.

At the start of his speech, the President and CEO Kuniharu Nakamura noted that the Sumitomo Corporation Group will be celebrating its centennial year in 2019 and declared his resolve that the Group would remain in business for another 50 years, 100 years or even permanently. He then encouraged the new employees to "play a key role in creating the next 50 years" and asked them to remember that "it is very important that each of you think carefully, communicate and discuss your ideas and thoughts frankly, and realize your dream with your organization." He concluded the address by urging the new employees to cheerfully and enthusiastically undertake their work toward the aim of "Be the Best, Be the One", creating value that nobody else can match.
