Mangrove Project

PT Sumitomo Indonesia and its group companies are deeply committed to environmental sustainability, as demonstrated through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. In 2022 and 2023, the company undertook a significant mangrove restoration project in Sumbawa, planting 155,000 mangrove seeds over a 50-hectare area. Mangroves are vital to the health of coastal ecosystems and play a crucial role in combating climate change. By restoring these vital habitats, PT Sumitomo Indonesia is taking meaningful action to protect the environment.

Our commitment goes beyond just planting trees; we understand that mangroves are key carbon sinks that sequester large amounts of carbon dioxide, thus helping to mitigate climate change. By initiating this mangrove project, PT Sumitomo Indonesia reaffirms its dedication to caring for the Earth and future generations. Our restoration efforts in Sumbawa reflect how we, as a responsible corporation, can contribute to environmental sustainability while enhancing the well-being of local communities. Through our CSR initiative, we show that responsible business practices can and should go hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship, investing in a healthier, more sustainable world for all.
