By business segment, non-mineral-resource businesses such as real estate, transport equipment and construction machinery accounted for ¥398 billion, representing 80% of the total.

This represents a significant increase of ¥51.0 billion compared to the previous year. What are "non-mineral-resource businesses?" In the past, many integrated trading companies generated large earnings from overseas natural resources such as crude oil and mineral ore. Recently, companies are increasingly expanding investment in non-mineral-resource areas: food, agriculture, textiles and other consumer-oriented businesses.

Guided by the corporate message "Enriching lives and the world," the company aims to drive business expansion while helping solve social issues. Under the Medium-Term Management Plan (FY2024-26), Sumitomo Corporation plans total investments of ¥1.8 trillion, further strengthening earnings power.

The Medium-Term Management Plan is off to a strong start.

FY2024 ¥730.0 billion invested within the ¥1.8 trillion three-year plan. Aggressive new investments, such as the investment in EEW Offshore Wind EU Holding, the world's largest manufacturer of offshore wind power foundation structures, are yielding results.

FY2025 and beyond During the first half of FY2025, we invested a total of ¥240 billion, including an investment in ActivStyle, a U.S. -based healthcare company specializing in home medical supplies.

We are positioning ourselves for strong expansion within the healthcare sector, including our investment in Vast Medical Holdings, another U.S.-based company, which we completed in FY2024.

Plans include approx. ¥880.0 billion to make SCSK, a major systems developer, a wholly owned subsidiary.

This will drive efficiency improvements in operations and enhance service value by leveraging digital technology across business sites, leading the transformation of society and industry.

An approx. ¥300.0 billion acquisition of Air Lease Corporation, a major U.S. aircraft leasing company, is also planned. This will expand our fleet to become one of the world's largest in terms of owned and managed aircraft and support the global air transport network. Strategic investments are here to stay.

In addition to enhancing cash flow generation, we will further accelerate asset recycling as a portfolio transformation for sustained growth. Through the "acceleration of metabolism by reallocating management resources,"
