Sumitomo Corporation opened its first representative office in 1955 in São Paulo. In 1970, Sumitomo Corporation do Brasil (SCBR) was established.
Currently, SCBR is present with offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais. SCBR is a part of the South American Sumitomo Corporation Group companies, collaborating with sister companies in this region such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and Chile.
