SCIN CSR Project Report for FY2017
Scholarship Program (ST. STEPHENS COLLEGE): SCIN – NEW DELHI
Scholarship program was held on Wednesday, March, 14 2018 at St. Stephens College, New Delhi.
From SCIN New Delhi office, SCIN Chairman & Managing Director,Mr. Masahiro Narikiyo, and the members of SCIN New Delhi Office were present.
From St. Stephens College, Prof. John Varghese (Principal) and Dr. Renish G Abraham (Bursar) joined scholarship certificate distribution program.
The students were honored every year with Sumitomo Scholarship and it is privilege for them to receive.
Prof. Mukesh Williams and delegation of Japanese Students from SOKA University also witnessed the scholarship program and were very obliged.
Scholarship Program (JAI HIND COLLEGE): SCIN - Mumbai Office
Achiever's Nite was held on Monday, Jan 22, 2018 at Jai Hind College, Mumbai.
The members of SCIN Mumbai office, Justice M.L. Tahaliyani from Jai Hind College and other guests were present at the event to encourage and cheer the students of Jai Hind College.
All students, their parents and college staff members witnessed huge enthusiasm from students during various dance and talent performances along with the general award distribution ceremony.
Scholarship Program (LOYOLA COLLEGE): SCIN - Chennai Office
Scholarship program at Chennai was held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Loyola College, Chennai.
The members of SCIN Chennai Office were present.
From Loyola College, Fr. M.S. Jacob (Director) and Ms.Jeeva (Programme Coordinator) joined scholarship certificate distribution program.
The officials of Loyola College and SCIN Chennai office congratulated all the scholarship recipients and wished the students good luck.
The students and officials of Loyola College were very obliged.
Donations to NGOs
Donation of Projectors: NGO – CRY
Child Rights and You (CRY) is an Indian NGO that works to ensure fundamental rights of underprivileged children of India. CRY’s work affects all the kernels that influence the well-being of a child, like education, health, nutrition and protection.
SCIN Mumbai office has donated 4 Projectors to CRY under our CSR activity. These projectors will be used to conduct following activities:
- Capacity building of the partner NGOs & in house staff training.
- Awareness programs on child labour, child marriage and malnutrition, literacy, at the community level in the CRY projects.
- As visual aids to facilitate class room learning as well as during workshops on child participation.
SCIN Mumbai Office Director, Mr Takeshi Muto visited the CRY office at Lower Parel, Mumbai on Tuesday, Jan 30, 2018 for donation of these Projectors. CRY West receive the donation and felt privileged. They assured us that this Visual aid will help them to bring awareness among underprivileged children and educate their staff in conducting such awareness and educational sessions.
Donation to SAMADHAN- NGO to purchase the equipment’s for therapy and special education
Society for the Aid of Mentally and Developmentally Handicapped (SAMADHAN), works towards establishing an infrastructure of accessible services for children with intellectual disability hailing from low income group communities in Delhi.
SCIN New Delhi Office reached out to children with disabilities by contributing to the purchase of equipment for therapy and special educational units of SAMADHAN under CSR activity. Therapy equipment was needed to meet the overall treatment goals such as:
- Overcoming physical limitations
- Expanding range of joint motion and maintaining muscle tone.
- Increasing recreational capabilities and Identifying alternate ways to perform everyday tasks
- Decreasing the likelihood of contractures, bone deformity
- Educating children and parents about adaptive equipment
- Providing sensory stimulation
- Minimizing pain and discomfort
Mr. Masahiro Narikiyo and the members of SCIN New Delhi Office visited SAMADHAN NGO at Dwarka New Delhi on March 7th, 2018 for inauguration ceremony of Therapy Equipment’s purchased for children with disabilities. Ms. Pramila Balasundaram (Founder Mentor), Ms. Sumathi Morgan (Exec. Director), staff member of Samadhan NGO and Parents of children felt privileged and obliged.
Funds contributed by SCIN for installation of Sewage Treatment Plant at NGO - Sivananda Saraswathi Sevashram.
SCIN Chennai Office reached out to NGO Sivananda Sarawathi Sevashram by contributing to the installation of Sewage Treatment Plant.
- The treatment plant will be utilized by NGO for Childrens Toilet, Senior Citizens Toilets and the Treated water for gardening purpose.
- MF (Micro Filtertation) membrane were supplied by Sumitomo Electric Industries (SEI) , Japan for the water treatment plant.
- This STP plant is planned out in Sivananda big campus and the STP plant is earmarked near – Old Age Home & Orphanage Child home and this plant will also cater to approx 300 people (Children and Elders).
SCIN Chennai Office Director, Mr Hideto Kimura, and the members of SCIN Chennai Office will inaugurate the Plant on May 11th, 2018.
